A Framework for Diagnosis and Epistemological Remediation in Learning Logic Programming

Using the domain of logical programming, we illustrate a diagnosis and epistemological remediation framework, which exploits the nature of skills involved in the exercises practiced. The main contribution in this article is the framework generality where classical approaches may be incorporated as well as tutor or author custom choices for this process: an authoring tool or educational artifact for author or tutor use can use that model. A secondary contribution in this paper is to illustrate the relations in the diagnosis/remediation loop: we designed remediation scenarios where the features of diagnosed skills are exploited to remedy a learner’s error.
